Challenge Can’t Be Spelled Without Change

Last night, I went to Body Pump again.

About halfway through class I thought to myself, “This class is not easy for me.”

Zumba, my jam, is easy for me. Dancing is a gift of mine. It comes easily and naturally for me.

Body Pump is challenging.

As most of my weight training until now has solely been with free-weights (dumbbells), not barbells.

Obviously, barbell weights, weigh more/are heavier than barbells.

Mix that with squats, deadlifts, chest presses etc...and it’s challenging.

This class is not for the sissies, the weak and the weary.

It is for the warriors, the strong ones, the ones up for a challenge.

In those moments yesterday when I began to struggle and tire, I got out of my head and focused on the teacher’s encouragement.

I also reminded myself of this quote, “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”

I go to the gym to work, and for results. So, I safely push through and simply try my best during all of my workouts.

Are you wimping out when things get challenging or pushing through because you know what change is on the other side?

Xo,

Elizabeth
