On Tuesday night, thiz Zumba girl decided to be a little yogi after Zumba.
What a beautiful night it was for some outdoor yoga!
I love me a good slow, heart-opening, healing yoga class and do not get on the mat nearly as much as I would like to.
However, in 2019, I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone and have tried new fitness endeavors. This means, starting off some of my Sundays with different “Yoga with Adriene” yoga videos and trying my best to make yoga a more regular practice.
Tuesday night was a bit out of my comfort zone. Since the class was outside, I found I was distracted by all the stimuli. I wasn’t as present with my practice. I was also following a fast instructor. So I felt the need to keep up instead of taking my time & letting go of perfectionism. I had to remind myself tgar it’s okay to take my time and meet the class a step or two later.
By the end, when we did pigeon pose, I found I wasn’t as wound and had finally relaxed.
I’m glad I tried this and am excited to give it a go again!
